Politics through the eyes of a heartlander ~

Discussion, comments & observations on Singapore Politics & beyond

About me . . .

I am an ordinary heartlander. A typical heartlander just like any other Singaporean. I want to look at politics in a truly spirited way – the Singapore Heartlander way.

I strongly believed that politics is for you and me. It’s not an exclusive lifestyle for people living in the ivory tower. Anyone and Everyone should talk and discuss about it.

My name is Bernard Chen and I am a member of the Workers’ Party Youth Wing Executive Council. By the way, I will be turning 22 this year, though I would very much love to remain forever 21. :)

Am I partisan? It’s for you to decide after viewing my writings.

Am I spreading party propaganda? I don’t think so. My blog is just a needle in the haystack. Comparable to a drop in the electronic media.

You may disagree with me but I believed I am entitled to my views. I welcome any views you have on my blog, on the writings; essentially anything you feel like telling me. Singaporeans should respect each other’s views and engage each other’s opinion in a respectful and humane way.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for spending time reading through my little profile.

I’ll see you around. :)

Bernard Chen.

    hi bernard,

i’m a grad from TP too and is currently in NUS. erm… i would like to congratulate you for being able to stand and act for what you believe in. However, a note of caution I would suggest that in dealing with the Govt, it would be good if you are made more aware of global news reporting about Singapore. Being in the opposition camp in Singapore, it is difficult to survivev well becoz people are trapped into believing ST is the best news you can ever get and “laziness” to read the news and focusing everyday on bread and butter issues. To overcome the Govt, your side must be able to ride on the path of Enlightenment and share it with fellow Singaporeans. Starting with your peers is a good start. However, do also take note that most govt mechanisms (for e.g GROs, Stats Board are against you…so this process is more impt than anything else.) Saying that …hope that everything is well on your side. : )
